Leana Stevens

In 1996, op die ouderdom van 9 jaar, kom woon Leana saam met haar ouers op Olyfberg.
Sy het laerskool en hoërskool voltooi terwyl hulle op die plaas woon.
Nadat sy skool voltooi het, het sy ń twee jaarkursus in kleuteronderrig voltooi.

In 2005 word haar oudste dogter gebore. ń Jaar later open ń kleuterskool op Olyfberg, vir die plaaswerkers se kinders, en sy het word as kleuterskoolonderwyseres aangestel.

Na vier jaar, is daar ń geleentheid vir haar om die telefone te antwoord in Olyfberg se kantoor.

Na ń kort tydperk begin Leana saam met haar kollega, Hester Cupido, in Olyfberg se olie stoor te werk. Daarna het sy die verantwoordelikheid aan gevat om bestellings vir produkte van kliënte te neem.

In 2011 is Leana ingeskryf vir die SA Olive kompetisie, waar sy ń
mentorskap program wen. Die program het by gedrae tot Leana se
ontwikkeling in die olyf bedryf.

Leana se pa, Andrew Stevens, sterf in 2014. Dis was ń baie moeilike tyd vir haar en haar familie. Piet Stevens het ʼn groot rol gespeel in die ontwikkeling en vooruitgang van Olyfberg.

Vandag is Leana die produksie bestuurder by Olyfberg. Haar visie toe sy aangestel was om na ń paar jaar in ń bestuur posisie te wees. As gevolg van haar harde werk en toewyding is haar visie vandag ń realiteit. Leana en haar familie, veral haar wyle pa, kan trots wees op haar prestasies.

Leana het Olyfberg diep lief. Haar wens is om die res van haar lewe op Olyfberg te woon en werk.

Leana Stevens arrived at Olyfberg in 1996, with her parents, at nine years of age.

While living on the farm, Leana attended primary and secondary school. After matriculating she completed a two-year course in Edu care. In 2005 her oldest daughter was born. One year later a kindergarten opened on Olyfberg for the farm labourers’ children. Leana was appointed as the kindergarten teacher.

Four years later an opportunity emerged for Leana to work in the office at Olyfberg, answering telephone calls. After a short period Leana started assisting her colleague Hester Cupido in the oil storage facility.
Thereafter Leana took on further responsibility, taking orders from clients for Olyfberg products.
In 2011 Leana was entered into a competition hosted by the SA OliveAssociation. She ended up winning a mentorship programme as a prize. This program assisted in her development in the olive industry.

In 2014 Leana’s father passed away, tragically. This was a difficult period for her and her family. Leana’s father was a key stakeholder in the development, growth and prosperity of Olyfberg.
Today Leana is the production manager at Olyfberg. This was her goal when she was first appointed at Olyfberg. Due to her commitment and dedication to her work, she was able to realize her goal. She has certainly done herself and her family proud, especially her late father.

Leana has a deep love for Olyfberg and wishes to spend the rest of her life living and working at Olyfberg.
